Poppy - Hairstylist
What do you love most about what you do?
I love hairdressing as it gives me the ability to change ones perception of self (an external level at least). People often want to change their image when they are going through significant changes in their lives, so it’s wonderful to be a part of helping people embrace and/or enhance themselves & try something new. I also enjoy sculpture/mixed media so hairstyling and colouring is just another medium for me to create art.
@lunarbun
Margaret - Fashion Designer
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Life isn't actually that short, it's okay to slow things down. Don't be too hard on yourself for taking things at your own pace, just let yourself go in whichever direction the clouds take you.
@urlocalcherub
Gen - Fine Arts
What do you love most about what you do?
I always have ideas buzzing around in my little brain and studying Fine Arts motivates me to do my research and create those thoughts into something tangible which to me is god damn awesome
How would you like to be remembered?
I want to be remembered as someone that was successful, strong and exciting to be around and even possibly an inspiration to others (fingers crossed). I want to make a name for myself doing what I love, as cheesy as that sounds!
@gennyburke
Elise - Textile Designer
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Chill out and not worry about what’s going to happen in the future! To trust myself that things will work out all right.
What’s your favourite thing about yourself?
I’m thinking ahead a lot, asking myself what the next thing will be or where I want to be heading. It's a good thing because it means I’m constantly pushing myself, but it’s also a bad thing because it means I end up putting a lot of pressure on myself.
@elisebrimer
Jayna - Graphic Designer
What do you love most about what you do?
I’m in my final year of finishing a bachelor in design. I get to combine the two things I love in my honours project (design and makeup). I believe makeup can be seen beyond the superficial purposes of adornment, to break away from conforming to a social standard. Also, I get to meet a lot of cool people along the way!
@jaynaravji
Kiki - Dancer
What are you afraid of?
I'm afraid of losing my passion and enjoyment of dance and that I will go so far and dedicate my life towards this career to just lose the love of it.
@kiki.miwa
Ahlia-Mei - Architecture
What do you love most about what you do?
The thing I love most about studying interior architecture is how open the field is. When I finish my degree I could go on to doing set designs, gallery and museum exhibitions or heritage restoration fit outs, which all sounds exciting to me.
@babyswindler
Anna - Photographer
What advice would you give to your younger self?
I would tell my younger self to not be so afraid to take chances, cause the best things happen when you stop thinking too much and just jump into it. And also to have more self-love
